Southport ist für mehr- und eintägige Ausflüge sehr zentral gelegen. Hier noch ein paar Beispiele:
den Banana Express (alter Kohlenzug) der zum Schlangenpark führt, hat eine alte Tradition und ist einen 1/2 tätigen Ausflug wehrt. Die Station befindet sich in Port Shepstone
Die verschieden Strände, sehr zu empfehlen sind: Hibberdeene, Banana Beach, Tweni Beach, Margate Beach, bitte beachtet dass nur die Strände welche mit einer braunen Tafel versehen sind, mit Hai Netzen gesichert sind
Hluhluwe National Park, das grosse Game Reserve ist ca. 4 Stunden (ca. 400km) nördlich von Southport entfernt. Es ist auf jeden Fall eine 2 – 3 tägige Reise wert, mit Sicherheit werden Sie dort die meisten Tiere sehen. Weitere Informationen findet Sie unter: www.hluhluwe.co.za
Oribi Gorg, ist auf jeden Fall eine 1-2 tägige Reise wert, dafür fährt man ca. 30Min Landeseinwerts. Oribi Gorg verfügt über ein Game Reserve, National Park, und verschiedene Sport Aktivitäten (wie reiten, river rafting, abseilen, velotouren, klippenspringen und vieles mehr. Das neue Seaworld in Durban darf man auf keinen Fall, denn wo sonst kann man mit Haien gemeinsam essen? Es wurde 2003 neu gebaut und ist das fünf grösste der Welt, meiner Meinung nach ist dies das schönste der Welt. Das Tauchgebiet von Südafrika ist gigantisch, es gib etliche versunkene Schiffe die besichtigt werden können und auch die Unterwasser Welt ist einfach fantastisch. Southport is very central for day trips. Some suggestions include:
The Banana Express (a quaint old train) goes directly to the snake park. It has an rich tradition and is worth half a day. The train leaves from the railway station at Port Shepstone.
There are many different beaches, especially Hibberdeene, Banana Beach, Tweni Beach and Margate Beach you should not miss. Note that only the beaches displaying a brown plate have shark nets.
Hluhluwe National Park, is a large game reserve which is about 4 hours (about 400 km) north of Sea Park.

Oribi Gorg,
